"Love Me Again" is a striking song by English vocalizer John Newman. The vocal was released as a digital download in Europe on 17 May 2013, except for the United kingdom of great britain and northern ireland where it was released on xxx June 2013 as the lead single from his debut studio album, Tribute (2013). The song was written by Newman and Steve Booker and produced past Booker and Mike Spencer. The song was later featured on the soundtrack for video game FIFA 14.
It was nominated for the Brit Award for British Single of the Year at the 2014 BRIT Awards[ane] and nominated for the 2014 Ivor Novello Laurels for All-time Song Musically and Lyrically.
Background [edit]
In an interview with Digital Spy, Newman was asked if he sensed that the song had something special about it in the studio. He said, "Yeah. The guy I wrote it with (Steve Booker), we turned effectually and had massive grins on our faces thinking, 'There's something skillful here'. Just yous but never know how good information technology is, y'all know?".
Newman was likewise asked if it was hard to write the lyrics about dearest and intermission-upwardly, he said, "No, it's the merely place where I actually open up to somebody, through my music. I'chiliad producing [the anthology] and writing it, information technology'south expert. I like to proceed a concord of everything".[two]
With the chord progression of Gm—Bb—Dm—C, the song is written in the cardinal of G Dorian. The key signature is in D minor. Both are modes of F major, of which either 1 can be used as the tonic note/chord, considering, nevertheless, the F major chord is not nowadays in the song.[three]
Music video [edit]
Ii music videos, both with elements of Northern soul dancing, have been released for "Beloved Me Once more". One version[4] directed by Vaughan Arnell is based on the classic dear story of Romeo and Juliet.[5] The woman in the video, Juliet, is French actress Margaux Billard, carefully watched over past her blood brother, Tybalt, played by Joseph Steyne. The Romeo, is British model Tommy-Lee Winkworth. This video ends in a bewilderment as they become run over past a truck and their fate remains unknown till Newman'southward follow-up unmarried "Adulterous", which starts with a newspaper commodity indicating that they had indeed survived the crash, which was a hit-and-run accident.
Another version features Newman, backed by musicians, singing in a dimly lit room.[6]

In popular civilization [edit]
"Dearest Me Again" was featured on the soundtrack of video game FIFA fourteen,[8] giving it a cult status amid FIFA fans, as well as the Federation'due south #WorldCupAtHome serial, which opened FIFA'due south archive during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also appeared in the endmost credits of the 2014 science fiction film, Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. The song was also featured on the American Television set series, Suits in the episode, "Buried Secrets", which aired on half-dozen March 2014, and in the opening scenes of the outset episode of season 4, "One-Ii-Three Go", which aired 11 June 2014. "Beloved Me Again" is likewise a playable vocal in Only Dance 2015. The song was also used as the theme to the tv prove Whiskey Condescending which debuted in Feb 2019 and ended in May subsequently one flavour.[9] In Baronial 2020 and May 2021 it was used in Goggle box and radio adverts for National Rail.
The French aqueduct TF6 besides used this song to shutdown its aqueduct.
